Re: Jack's Cabin: Ashleigh D/Jack R
It was easy to see the moment recognition took hold of him, and there's no helping the smile on her lips as he steps forward with open arms in her direction. It's then that she rises up to her full height, leaving Spot bereft of her attention at her feet as she moves into those open arms, returning the hug with a tight embrace of her own.
"I don't really know what happened except I got stuck in Fabletown with no way back for... well, four years. But I'm good. Everything's fine for once." And she stepped back with a grin, her head tilted to the side. "And you haven't changed in the slightest from what I remember. It's good to see you again, Jack." It really was, honestly. It felt good to be back in a frame of mind that didn't leave her so vulnerable and afraid of everything around her. That Ash had grown up and matured into a young woman who knew how to take on the world and come out ahead. She still had fears, of course, but they were pushed to the side as she focused on simply giving her son the best life possible.
