Re: Corner Couch: Jason/Banner
"The Citadel and controlled weather? Maybe. There's an order to things there. It still has dark and gritty places, but it's clean. Secure." Bruce loved secure. It was never really complete, but it was something. He needed peace more than liked it, it was easier to stay level in a place like that. "And the technology, I could spend days on one piece of information alone." It was impossible to keep the pleasure out of his voice when he talked about it. He liked that door, that much was clear.
Bruce did see Jason's eyes move, and followed his look that way too. He knew Harley and Damian, and boy was that a shock too. Selina said that Damian would bring criminals in, he was a by the books vigilante. Sleeping with them was probably outside of that, but she hadn't been a criminal lately. He could tell it bothered with Jason, and he wondered which of the many possible options it would be. Because she was a criminal? Because this might make Jason wonder if it was really Damian?
"She's not comfortable at weddings, and having me here was potentially a stressor." She wasn't there to be stressed, and that was the fact. She wasn't coming. Bruce felt the undercurrent of frustration and resentment, and squashed it down. There was no good wandering around that. "I'm not confident, why should anyone else be?" He shrugged. "Sometimes things are just what they are, confusing or not." He had to take it or not. He played with his watch, because it was there.
He smiled at Jason saying he was depressing. "That's how it can be at these things. Depressing or joyful, and they're joyful enough for everyone. And I can't dance, I'd just embarrass and step on your toes."
