It probably wasn't the wisest idea to ask a certifiably insane person what they would do, like that was a good source of advice. She was obsessed with the Joker. Clearly not the best judge of healthy relationships. Still Bruce asked and he listened and he thought about what she said. "I'm not exactly sane myself." He might not be her type of crazy, or Arkham crazy, but he wouldn't call himself sane after everything. Psychiatrists would have a field day, picking him apart.
"I've survived it before. I was engaged, we were together a decade." Much longer than a few months, and he was more fragile then. He kept thinking if he only found a cure, everything could go back to the way it was before. "I think she's worth it. She's not just an affair to me, I like her as a person. We're close friends." It would be a difficult adjustment for him, but he was going to try anyway, after he got squashed like a bug. "I have a cupcake here, do you want it? Payment for listening to a poor schlub." It was brightly colored like everything there.
