Re: Corner couch: Banner/Harl
Self-worth was definitely top of the list of reasons jealousy curled into him at the worst possible times. It didn't really have to do with Selina in that way, but rather the certainty that when she did inevitably leave him, it was because of him, not her. She could find better, so the jealousy was really about fear. Fear that it would come sooner than later, and it was difficult for him not to try and grasp tighter. It was a struggle for the two of them, since grasping bothered her, and hands off entirely bothered him.
He didn't notice the dress, but he didn't mind when her feet poked him. As long as it wasn't the rest of her. Feet were fine. He patted them lightly. Bruce shrugged at her question. "I don't, actually. Love, maybe, but not in relation to me." Sex and love, that was complicated, and he couldn't go with sex without feelings attached. But love? He wasn't entirely sure how capable he was of that right now. There was that old saying you couldn't love someone until you loved yourself. And Bruce hated himself. That might not stop him from feeling something akin to love, eventually.
"Right, that's Damian." He hadn't seen very clearly who she was dancing with. That was interesting. Selina said he was very strict Bat, so it was curious for him to hook up with a rogue. She seemed okay with it. Bruce sighed at the giggle, but he finally nodded. "I know I will." There was no argument from him. That was the reality of the situation. Their affair was temporary, there was an expiration date, and he was as prepared as he could be. He did give her a curious look. "What would you do?" She loved the Joker after all, and that seemed complicated.
