Re: dancefloor: eddie/steph.
"I only learned how to toot my own horn from the very best, Edward Nashton," Steph countered, giggling quietly as he sucked on her finger and retreating her hand quickly the second she pulled her finger out of his mouth as if to punish him. "You're one in an infinity." See, she could be cheesy, too, even if it didn't really make very much sense. It was the thought that counted at the end of the day, right? The kiss was taken with relish, and she licked any excess salt from her lips.
She shot him a pointed look when he tried to avoid answering because she knew he was full of shit. Absolutely full of shit. Sure, there was so much to hate about this Gotham. The lack of brightness to break through the grittiness, a batfamily in shambles, a mob tearing the city apart piece by piece with no one who actually wanted to fix it. This didn't feel like home. But there were redeeming qualities in this city. Wasn't there in every place? Even Earth-3, where they were ravaged by war, there were good goddamn things. That shitty little apartment, where when they had a good record and some good moonshine and could lose themselves in each other for a couple of hours could be better than any sort of fancy date here.
And so, she knew Eddie liked things here. Small things, as he tended to, like the beautiful kids that were bouncing around somewhere in the party and all their friends and family and, of course, his baseball team. Stephanie was so charmed by him almost every moment of her life these days, and she sat there, head tilted and smile growing and looking stupidly in love with him. She let go of his hand, but then leaned forward to catch his chin and steal a round of kisses from him.
"You love me. You love me so much," she teased against his lips, eyes drifting shut as she ignored the bartender practically gagging at the married couple in love. "I love you, Nashton." She rubbed her nose against his and then bit his bottom lip. "Funny you should bring up the baseball team, too. I'm glad you still like them." A little leading, but she planted the clue. Hoping he could figure out what she was hinting at.
