Re: Eddie/Holly: late, near the food
Steph and Eddie came from Gotham, where it wasn't really anyone's crowd for this it happen. For weddings and babies and the like, but here they were. Newlyweds cooing over a baby like this was normal for this city. Maybe it could be one day. This wasn't their Gotham anymore either. Either way, it would be normal for the Nashtons one day. Steph knew that. She was sure, more than anything else in the entire world, of that, of their family and their love and their future. And maybe she would be more than a little proud that she and Eddie caused a twinge of anything. They kind of earned it.
She reached out to rub her thumb on the back of Izzy's chubby leg before shamelessly dragging her fingers across Eddie's arm as he extended it. "You can start off with one or two," she told Holly with a smile, total proponent of body art. Clearly. "I'll never get tired of his." Unabashed fondness, though she did wrinkle her nose as he continue, even with a glint of playfulness in her blue eyes. "Except for the taco ones. I think tacos are one of the things that he loves more than me."
Steph offered a knowing smile. "It's different from ours, too. It's even different from the Gotham it was when we got here." And she felt something for Holly. A sort of twinge of acknowledgement and understanding because they had all been there. She had gone through two best friends who didn't actually remember her, but that was half a decade ago. Time healed everything. "It'll start to feel like home, I bet. Some things about this city always stay the damn same."
