He was angry. [...] A few of them were rescuing Luke's best friend. He had Jason. His name is Jack. Do you remember?
I'm not sure you can fix resenting people. Selina wrote about that all the time, and I don't think she could figure out how to stop either. I think you fix the relationships that really, really matter, maybe. The ones you think you'll back at in five years and miss. And maybe you just let time handle the others. Or you make new friends. That happens too. My friend that I resent, we don't talk anymore, but I have new friends that I love, and they understand me, and I don't have to try so hard with them. [...] You know I left Luke once, but that was worth fighting for. I'm glad we fought for it, even though it was really bad sometimes. But I can live with everything else I lost. [...] Maybe don't try to be whatever they wanted. Be what you want. If you don't like the city, then go somewhere else. If you don't like the people, then meet new ones. If what matters is helping, then help somewhere that feels right. You don't have to be what you were. Be something new. Be whoever you really are, and if they're worth it, then they'll understand.
I don't think that's true. I told Luke that once. I think maybe you just don't understand? Or maybe you just don't realize what's in you, but I read a lot about you for years, and none of it sounded like you didn't care, not to me. But I think I've turned into a little bit of a romantic maybe. But I told him. I told him after I did the stupid thing, but I told him.
