Re: cult fighting: eddie/diana/zee/hellblazer/liam
Even with the distraction of the attack, many of the cultists were still fixated on who they had captured earlier in the day. They had seen him, after all, along with a large portion of the city, but in him they had seen more than just an anomaly with wings. No, this man was something more, something sent from heaven, and they just had to have him.
So the people coming in through the skylight, the ruckus that was being caused, sure, it was a distraction, but only just. There was still plenty of attention upon the day's main attraction, the man displayed upon the large brick wall at one end of the building. Arms splayed, wings stretched and pinned to the wall, vicious hooks through the shoulders to support his weight, the display was equal parts beautiful and horrific.
For Liam, time had moved in a strange manner since he had been brought down from the morning skies by something hitting him in the side of the head. It had dazed him enough that he had come down instantly, and into the waiting arms of several figures, hooded in dark fabric and meaning him no good. Even if he had had any skill in fighting, he was quite outnumbered, and it was only a matter of moments before they had him subdued.
Since then, consciousness had come and go in spurts, each filled with pain and restraint, his head feeling as though it had been stuffed full of cotton wool. It made it difficult to concentrate on anything, but he had learned from the start that moving was not an option. Each twitch of his wrists brought fresh pain, his wings stretched out to the point of discomfort, but neither of those were any comparison to the pain in his shoulders. At first, it had been white hot and burning, but that had faded at some point to a dull throb that never left, that couldn't be ignored. It hurt when he breathed, hurt no matter how still he attempted to be.
When the skylight shattered and the figures started pouring in, Liam lifted his head to try and make sense out of what was going on. A lick of his lips to wet them again, bright blue eyes followed some of the action. He didn't recognize anyone who had entered, but really, he didn't expect to. They didn't seem to be on the side of those that had put him here, and at that moment, that was more than good enough for him.
