Re: Camp: Lagertha/Ragnar
His certainty - she didn't know if it reassured her or annoyed her, made her feel somehow less because she could never be quite as strong in her own beliefs. Oh, she believed that the gods had a place for everyone, but there was still doubt in her mind in such hard times as these. And though perhaps she was beginning to accept that things were happening far beyond her control or ability to accept, him speaking with the gods, sharing a fire, that made her shake her head. It was too much for belief. "...dreams," she whispered. Though perhaps, even now, her voice didn't hold quite as much disbelief as it should have.
But fate. Fate she could believe it, though she couldn't explain how it differed from Ragnar's faith in the gods and their whims. "For what end?" She sighed as he drew back, wishing for the warmth of him close again, though she wasn't yet prepared to admit it. And maybe she didn't expect a response. Maybe in that moment it was alright to know, because she wasn't sure that she could take another thing just yet. She certainly didn't feel freed by her role, whatever the gods had decided it to be. She felt, for just then, tired. And she closed her eyes and sighed.
