Re: Marvel hospital: Tony/Bruce/Steve/Selina
As soon as the words were out of Tony's mouth like a dying man's last words, and as soon as Bruce grabbed that bag of his, Steve was moving forward. Tony wasn't going anywhere, he knew that just by looking at him, so he advanced on Bruce with determination that made his jaw twitch. He slammed a palm on the door as it started to swing closed behind Bruce, and he stormed out into the hallway after him. The anger he had been trying to keep down came out full force.
"Leave her alone, Bruce." Yes, it was an order, but it wasn't harsh. He was faster than the other man and it took him only seconds to draw up behind him, nearly on his heels. It wasn't as if he didn't understand irrational nature. He was by and large emotional, rather than logical. (For example: see his face, right now, and how angry he looks.) It wasn't as if he didn't think Bruce had a right to his own emotions. It wasn't as if he didn't get it. It was that it wasn't good for Tony, not now; it was that he was able to put his own crap aside and so could Bruce. It was that this wasn't the reason they had come to visit the man, whether the conversation had turned in that direction or not. It was that it wasn't always about Bruce or his issues with Selina. And it was about how much that irritated the super soldier when he wanted to try to make sure Tony would be okay. He put a hand out to grab the other man by the shoulder. "Doctor, I'm sorry. I really am. I know this is rough on everyone. But you need to let her go for a minute. Go spend some time by yourself or with Tony. She'll come back to you. It's not up to you to kiss her injuries and it's not your business to address how she should react to Tony or how he should react to her. If she wanted you to comfort her, she would be here. You're acting like a child. Stop. Tony needs you right now, not Selina."
Steve never raised his voice, but it came out forceful, and he didn't do a damn thing to correct that.
