[The ostentatious green of summer waved in translucence, it perked and shouted in the clinging humidity that sprung sweat in the clean heather gray of Steve's t-shirt. It blossomed in darkness down the front of his chest and cast blondness brown. But he'd propped the door open as advised. He pretended the past week hadn't happened and under the careful hold of the sun in Central Park, he set up the board.

He didn't know what Eddie N looked like, so he didn't bother scoping the scene; the oceanic and Pacific differences of the New Yorkers and tourists that bungled past were ignored. Instead, he bent his head near the cement construction of the set and arranged the pieces with eidetic precision. There was no pretense over his own disappearance for the last week, and it didn't compile itself as a careful construct of an excuse on the pink of his lips. He didn't bother with the elastic of defensiveness. Instead, he brushed away a fly that bothered him and ticked his attention into a point that lived on the board that spread before him, and he waited to be joined by Eddie N.]

I'm looking for the person who had someone else's claws at the mall.

[Stark Industries PR gives a small statement Tuesday night notifying the public that Tony Stark will remain in CCU despite a previously positive timeline. The (extremely vague) report is that surgeons encountered unexpected complications that prevented the procedure from completing as planned. Investors are reassured that Mr. Stark left the company in good hands and various projects are proceeding according to his direct guidelines (which is crap, but nobody needs to know that).

Tony's friends are informed more directly that while the procedure successfully removed about 80% of the shrapnel, smaller pieces still remain. Deactivating the magnet in his chest was required for the procedure, which also required controlled cardiac arrest, and after six hours they didn't feel it was safe to continue removing the pieces.

More procedures are planned when he is stronger, in the next couple weeks.

Tony's in and out of consciousness for the next twelve hours, and will be awake (though hardly on his feet) in the morning. No visitors are allowed.]
