Re: Chinatown Apt: Robert/Selina
It was and wasn't about them, because it was because of them that she was there, not the them that caused trouble, but the them that started it. The them that gave them both an emotional outlet before it was anything else. He remembered the first time he hugged her and how she cried and didn't know what to do with at sign of comfort. And now she was searching for it, needing it, and Bruce was going to feed what she was starving for.
"It's okay," he whispered to her. She was trying to get closer and Bruce simply reached over and scooped her up. Not to make it harder on her, but to make it easier. He set her down on his lap, sideways and not straddling, and wrapped his arms around her. He was strength and grounding and affection. She could curl into him without an awkward angle and his hand rubbed at her back. He murmured more things to her, nonsense really, just soft and soothing.
He was going to get her to eat more eventually, maybe just a few more bites, and see if he could convince her to sleep more. He told Pepper it was hard to detach the doctor from the man, and Selina was the best example of that, because he'd always been both for her. Since the day they met she was on his table, and if she hadn't been, they wouldn't have been this. He didn't think she would've been open to him the same way. But for now he held her and hugged her and rocked her in a subtle way, just let her grip him however she wanted and sap out what he could give her.
