I've got a fresh ciggie and a bottle of brandy, and I think I'm taking a night in with my new book. I'm not a man who likes reality television or reads the Sun, but you people are better than Brecht.

As in Bertolt. Chap who wrote an opera about the poor and disenfranchised. Good, lurid stuff, a lot like this place from what I'm seeing so far.

So there aren't girls screaming to high heaven about someone 'boinking' somebody else? Don't disappoint me, I just got here.

I didn't know people even used that word still.

My thoughts exactly. I may not know every bit of slang used by the modern american teen, but 'boinking' strikes me personally as a little Happy Days.

I didn't realize it was that old, either.

My sense of time might be a little skewed.

Just in the sense that it is, love. You do ask a lot of questions.

[John C, could just be a coincidence. Still, he should be able to feel a tiny tickle of magic.]

You love reality television and the Sun.

I need you to tell me whether this is a conversation about our relationship, or if we're being literal, now.

The one we used to have. I thought we were past the post-mortem phase, but if you want to talk it over again, I'm always here for you to call names.

Bruce, Diana, Clark, they're all from different times and different places. Can't you feel it, all the ways the air is wrong?

Oh this place is six kinds of outside and under where it ought to be, but I hadn't gone judging individuals just yet. I was busy trying to get a bead on what this snowglobe is. Where'd you come from, then?
