Re: log: SHIELD meeting
[Sam had received mission briefings before, though it had been a little while since his last one that didn't include taking down a government agency and the evil that had infiltrated it. But old training died harder than old habits, and he was able to keep one ear to the information Nat was giving (the information he already knew, though wasn't it a kick in the head to hear it again like it was new) and still cast a look around at the other people in the room. Other than Natasha and Steve, no one else was familiar at first glance, though there were a few of them whose faces he might have seen before. Somewhere.
It took until the guy spoke - not Clint, but the one that had slipped in earlier with very little fanfare - for Sam to really shift his attention over. And then 'vaguely familiar' became extremely familiar - a face he'd seen from old files in Steve's hands and in the adrenaline spikes during fighting. On the other side of the fight. He went very still, very quickly, and tried to remember if he'd at least slipped a knife into his pocket. He'd been more careful in the days since the helicarrier to keep a level of vigilence and awareness that most often included a weapon of some sort close at hand. But no one else was reacting. Everyone else was listening, as if it was just another part of the briefing, and Sam frowned. It didn't make sense, but he was used to thinking on his feet and adapting quickly.
Moving slowly, he worked his way closer to Steve. He didn't think he was fooling anyone - half the people in the room were probably spies (or ninjas) - but he at least wasn't running over in a panic. He could be cool about it. Even once he got closer, he waited for a second, leaning against the wall with his arms crossed over his chest, watching the other people in the room (with a special bit of attention focused on that one extra-familiar face).]
We're not worried about this? [He'd leaned over toward Steve close enough that hopefully no one else could hear the whisper, and his eyes shifted to indicate Bucky at the question.]
