[It was a story he didn't know how to tell, but he knew he had to try. Steve, at once himself and very different, had to take a moment to just look at Peggy, to make himself believe that she was real here. That she was... young, that she remembered who he was. That the things that had happened before SHIELD fell weren't some fevered dream. The kiss on his cheek was countered with a gentle, if slightly desperate kiss to her forehead.
Steve withdrew then from all touch. He tugged the coffee off the stove and snapped the dial to 0. He didn't bother pouring a mug. He all but dropped everything to come back to the living area, to sit on the sofa and motion for Peggy to join him, her and her frown.
