This took some getting used to, to say the least. This man....was so different. Very different. Mary's eyes widened as she stared at him still, knowing it was impolite to do so, yet afraid to look away for fear that something may happen.
"And you said this...is a mutation?" she spoke the word slowly, testing it on the tip of her tongue. She wasn't sure how this word sounded and her accenting it was a bit off, putting more emphasis on the a rather than on the u. She didn't understand the science of it. How could she, given that science was such a new concept as it's known in her world?
This was magic, that brought them here, it had to be. Mary was poised and elegant as ever, as was expected of her upbringing, but she couldn't hide forever behind the shroud of security.
