Re: Watchower: Clark/Diana/Zatanna
Zatanna was about to respond to Diana, but then Clark spoke, and Zatanna's face lit up like lights in the night sky. "You are from home," she said, pleased. Now she understood. She hadn't realized with Diana so close, but Clark was familiar in a way the woman clasping her hands was not. But he was different, too. He did not look like the war had ravaged him. She saw none of of those terrors in his eyes when he looked at her, and she was glad of it.
The realization made her turn to the woman clasping her hands. She squeezed Diana's fingers, and then she stepped back. "There are different times, as well as different places." It was a statement. It was not a question, and there was no shock that came along with it. It made a sort of cosmic sense, and Zatanna was more at ease with this development than some might be.
She looked around Watchtower, noticing the differences from time spent there in the past. "I only know that Bruce claims he is not from my world. I was coming here to see for myself, but I found you instead." It was punctuated with a smile. Finally facing the demon question in sheep's clothing, the one about what she last remembered, that was not as easy. Her smile faded. "I remember a war you have, hopefully, not lived through."
