Re: Tony & Pepper
Ten percent of Tony's attention was capable of bringing down dynasties of information technology, not even half-again required for drawing up chemical engineering and manufacturing techniques that, if they existed anywhere else, were still doodles in MIT post-grad. He was very rarely capable of total focus and when he was, he didn't eat, sleep, or talk to anyone for days. It was much better this way. He ran equations and vague ideas in the back of his consciousness and it made it so the surface of his mind could actually make conversation.
"Yeah, I got us reservations at this spot. Very exclusive." His chest twinged again as she came close, and not in the sweet metaphorical way, either. He ignored it and let her close this distance between them, and even the percentage of his attention thinking about Python algorithms and data structures increased exponentially. Tony really didn't do second dates or third dates, so his first date kiss was really all he had, and it was dedicated. He explored her mouth with his, enjoying her softness, incredibly pleased that she let him.
He broke the kiss way early, because he believed in delayed gratification. "Let's go." He took her hand and they headed downstairs and through the lobby, past full security and JARVIS's watching eyes. The car waiting was white and nondescript, not like a limo. As they approached it Tony waved one hand and the driver got out, surrendering the driver's seat and holding the passenger's door open for Pepper.
