Re: TWD, Cell: Shane and Clem (+ Graham)
Clem knew she'd hit a real raw nerve when Shane's jaw snapped on shut like some venus fly trap that had gone and caught something real tasty. She knew, and she knew she was right, so she didn't even have the decency to look sheepish. "You heard me. I know. I known since-" Then the movement caught her notice before Graham even said anything. She looked on over at him, and she didn't shuffle her feet or go scared none. She'd grown up Murphy, and playing it cool when things got hot was just second nature. No one made it out of that family alive otherwise. She knew he'd heard, because damn if she couldn't tell that smile of his was fake, on account of seeing the real one too many times recent to notice.
"Not interrupting," she said, and she thought he'd only heard that last part. She didn't realize he'd been present for her talking about her skin and her sister and the fact they weren't one in the same. And so, she went on like that was the only thing to worry about. "I was just telling Shane how I know neither of you was in shipping." She looked back at the man that had been ready to holler her head off, protective as could be about Graham, and maybe she understood that a lick better now. "It don't matter worth anything anymore," she said, looking Graham in the eye, because she didn't much care what Shane thought. "I know you wouldn't do it on purpose. I was just angry is all."
Clem had confidence soaking through every bit of her, and she said it straight, no concerns. Red dress and heels back on her feet, and she kissed Graham's cheek and gave him a smile. She knew what Shane wanted from her, but she didn't think she was inclined. She'd try, but she wasn't a woman made for sacrificing. She'd try, but she wasn't real selfless, and giving up one of the only comforts she had in this damn nightmare, it wasn't likely to stick long. But she'd try.
"Shane wants to clear out the rest of the prison. It's not a bad idea. We should all go. The boys can shoot fine now, and it might be too big a job for two folks alone." Made sense some, and she stepped back from Graham, so she wasn't whispering against his cheek no more.
