Re: Osborn Estate: Jason/Gwen/Bruce + Harry
Gwen was so entirely panicked that it didn't even register that there was a problem with Harry and Jason, at least not until Doctor Banner spoke to them. She noticed the look on his face first, the disapproval there, and then she looked at the boys that were across the room. Their expressions worried her, and the powder around the electric outlets began going off in quick bangs, there was the smell of burnt things, the chair nearest Harry and Jason caught fire, and one of Doctor Banner's pantlegs did the same.
But the older man was talking, and she turned her attention back to him. His hands on her arms were soothing, and she gulped in deep breaths of powdery air. Burning, things in the room were burning now, but she didn't look to see how bad it was. She could make out flames from the corner of her vision, and she was fairly certain the couch under their feet was burning inward. She closed her eyes, and she did what he asked.
At first, the flames and explosions increased, because she could smell them, and that fear made it worse. But she kept trying.
She kept trying.
And she kept trying.
And, just as it had all begun, it all returned to where it had been. Mostly.
The furniture was singed in places, and the glass wasn't in the windows; it was in the wall. And the carpet was damp. But the door was back in place, and Emily squealed with tiny glee and ran toward Harry, a dolly handing from her little hand and a very confused nanny in the hallway beyond.
