[It had taken her long enough, but Snow was finally pleased with the control of her powers. The experience in Marvel, though it exhausted her, proved that she could still be in a city without succumbing to lack of control. After a few days spent recuperating and resting in her ice cottage, she didn’t hesitate much longer to return to her apartment back in New York.
It was beyond liberating being there now, though she still missed (strangely) the days where she had nothing but paperwork waiting for her at the office. Now her days were spent merely checking to see everything was in order. No magical artifacts missing. No magic gone haywire. The Mundys of New York in her world had no idea what strange and fantastical things could exist, just as she liked it.
So of course, the second that she turns down one alley by mistake and finds herself face to face with a gargoyle girl, the surprise quickly melts into disbelief, and then irritation.] This is not happening. [She frowned as she tried not to let the air around her chill with her mood.] Do you… need help? [She cast a glance over her shoulder to the alley and the city behind her.] You can’t stay out here like this.
