Re: Marvel: Selina & Robert
You have a place here. [She looked around the lab, but she meant something more than that, something bigger.] It's not dependent on one person. You belong to a team, even if you don't want to actually call it that. I'm not a member of the batfamily, and I'm not a member of the Justice League. I don't work the government anymore, and the rogues are constantly trying use me as bait, so that never entirely works. And I've made a few enemies in high places in Gotham. Without the Bat, I don't actually fit. I'm out of the loop. [She gave him a smile that was reassuring, genuine and rusty from disuse.] You're lucky, Robert. And I don't buy that can't, not for a second.
[She noticed his anxiety when they stepped out, and she considered suggesting they stay in. But she didn't. She hated when people pointed out her fears; she didn't want to shine a flashlight on his. She grinned.] Oh, didn't I tell you? I robbed every jewelry store within miles of Stark last year. I have a penthouse. I just liked your couch better.
[She gave him one more enigmatic grin. She was glad she'd come. He was a very nice distraction.]
