Re: Mental: Cal/Gwen
[Brief - but ugly - visual of a rat. Very up close. He tries for tranquil. Part of it the problem is that she is in his mind - which allows for the transferrance of images and smells and sensation quickly but that his attention is under constant attack from a deluge of thoughts, other people's feelings, other sights, smells. She gets - as Cal begins to focus - absolutely everyone in the immediate vicinity. All their thoughts. All their drifting notions. What they hear. What they see. The conversation on their cellphone. Their feet on the sidewalk. Who they're looking for. The blare of the cab as it pulls into the curb. All of it, at once. Whittled down, it is still dizzying. Like a carnival ride, nauseous-fast.]
