Jessica wasn't sure yet what it said about her that she found herself there, got all this insane information, and didn't really feel much about it. Maybe it was shock, or they really did get too used to it. In any case, she wasn't going to be depressed that it was easy to adjust to, for now. It was a relief, really, and that's what she was going with until further notice. What Carol said about the people here not knowing their secrets yet, that was deeply appealing to Jess. She felt like it was impossible to run from her past, and while the whole 'embrace yourself and other people will too' feel good mentality was nice, it was far from reality. She'd take the blank slate, thanks, if she was stuck in an alternate universe for a while.
Steve and Peter's warning about Carol meant she came prepared, and from Cap's quick description she filled in the rest. That's the good part about knowing someone in and out; very little about them surprised you anymore. And vice versa. Jess was in her suit, she'd need to get real clothes eventually, and she was glad to get away from the space where the mansion was supposed to be. Too eerie. Instead she found her way to Carol's place and shut the door behind her, pulling off her mask as soon as she was inside. Not that she cared much around here if people did see her face; she didn't exist here, far as she could tell.
"It's strange, going down the city blocks and half of the stores I recognize and half of them are different. Did Pete tell you Norman Osborn saved his life?" Jess swore under her breath and took off her gloves too. "I would've probably been dramatic and said I'd rather die. And then I'd be dead. The end."
