quicklog: robinson park; ivy, kitty, and eddie
[Eddie's flavor of green tonight was respectful to the foliage around him. His suit was a deep, beautiful color that was reminiscent of grass under the shade of a tree. Most people in Gotham had given up wearing fine suits, but Eddie understood that it was a status symbol. As were the bowler hat and question marked cane he was always seen with. The gang he was running with Selina had to see him as Riddler and he was not the kind of man to disappoint. Days of playing this character (which would turn into weeks, months, a year?) had made him appear more pragmatic and was slowly draining a lot of sympathies or rules he was carrying around with him. He had already killed and made no great theater of it like that wannabee Joker had. A man in his territory questioned whether or not he should listen to some "poindexter" and tried to prove his physical superiority which really didn't work out so well on the bad end of Eddie's revolver.
Actually, that part about not making a big show of it wasn't completely true. Eddie ended the act with reanimating the man's corpse and that really drove the point home that he was not a rogue to be fucked with.
To people who knew him, it would be pretty obvious that being a rogue was taking a toll on his riddled mind. He yearned for the comic book shop, the bright sunshine of Marvel and sometimes he wondered what they were doing there, why they were trying to save a city that didn't want to be. That always took way more than it gave. The way he felt about Gotham was a lot like how he felt about Stephanie right before he broke things off and he knew if things weren't going to get better, this would be his last riddled tale in his hometown.
Still, Ivy was here. And Ivy made Eddie remember the things he loved about Gotham. He had brought her a housewarming gift, a large suitcase full of basic laboratory equipment and samples of some of the plants he had seen versions of her grow throughout his time in this Gotham. Eddie was a collector at heart, after all, and it made for amazing presents when the time called for it.
He stood on the edge of the park, leaning on his brass cane with the bag at his feet. When Selina arrived he tipped the brim of his hat at her.] Riddle me this: What did the hotel play hide and go seek with for you? It gave me a poor woman's pup.
