Re: Hotel: Clem & Penny
[Penny wasn't having the best day of her life, but she supposed in the grand scheme of things she still had air in her lungs and she was putting one foot in front of the other. Quitting her job had been the easy part, quitting Cris - Not so much, but it was what it was. And all anyone had kept telling her was it was up to people whether they took her as she was. Sure she had a list of fuck ups under her belt, but she knew she had tried, they'd come from a good place. And the biggest mistake she'd made was trusting him from the get go. That had been just plain idiotic, and she'd known it had been when she decided she could.
None of what happened really surprised her, so to say that she was startled or shocked, no matter how much it stung, would be a lie. So she just kept right on walking. One foot in front of the other. Left, right, left. Counting time as she walked down the street and into the hotel lobby. She definitely couldn't afford to check in, but she'd check on Clementine, get herself feeling comfortable with the set up she had - and decide from there what to do next.
Her idea to flash her badge at the guard at the door was a bit waylaid by her earlier decision to quit her job, so she tried the smile, probably looked like a moron, and went with a "Clementine is expecting me," back and forth for a minute or two before she was let in. Well that was a good sign at least. She took her coat and shoes off as she entered. Jeans and a black sweater were the outfit of choice and she sat down on the couch next to Clementine, making herself right at home.] I'm starving.
