Re: Quicklog: Vegas, Sam & Mere
You look good. Not gross or anything. [Sam said, blunt helpful, and she didn't think it was weird or anything, the way the woman at her side walked trusting. Ok, so her mind was wandering a little, yeah? Thinking about Cris' reaction to Meredith's presence, and Sam realized she maybe needed to see things different for him. She lived a life where her body belonged to someone else, and she did things that were her DUTY, but that she didn't dig. Maybe everyone else couldn't do that, yeah? Because Cris was messed up, and it wasn't that she was absolving Meredith or whatever, but the chick was blind and alone, and Sam reasoned she wanted to help her BEFORE, yeah? For whatever reason, and she would just make sure Cris wasn't alone with her, or didn't have to hang with her.
But, yeah, she tried to remember to be careful as they walked, but young and full of energy, and it wasn't the easiest thing. She had all this built up nervousness too, yeah? From messing around with Cris beforehand, and she thought maybe they'd bang later, and she had no idea what that would be like. So, nervous, and she bounced a little as she and Meredith made their way down the hall and out to the sitting area on the back deck that Meredith mentioned.
Outside, Sam helped Meredith sit, and then she sat herself. One leg beneath her, and she listened as Meredith talked about leaving memories behind.] Do you know Lou? He's there too, in New York. I can get a job, and we can get a place cheap. I never lived alone, so having someone there is better than being by myself. [She meant that; she wasn't even blowing smoke up Meredith's ass.
A second later, her phone buzzed. Cris, saying he was bailing, but he'd come back when Sam needed to go home. She chewed at the inside of her cheek, and she felt shitty for making him come here and run off, and she decided she'd just find her own way home after. She didn't know a thing about chicks being burned or anything, so she didn't get it would be a bad idea maybe. She just didn't want to make him come back here if he didn't want to.
She returned her attention to Meredith.] By the end of the week, maybe? I can find us someplace, even if it's not permanent yet.
