Re: [Facility: Tony Triage]
[Pepper didn't bother hiding hope. She knew it was as obvious: she didn't have the armor of a suit and there was nothing stacked up to say Tony would come through this as he had so many battles, so many times either falling out of the sky, or getting hurt going after his friends. Hope was what she was good for. Holding it out long past everyone had given up, and she wore hope as obviously as she felt it, and if it turned out to be nothing at all, that was when she'd hide.
Selina looked as if nothing affected her at all, which, Pepper guessed, meant she felt it all at once. It was a skill, and it was very alike Tony, and Pepper's gaze slid to Bruce because he was nothing like Tony, and thinking about it was like a glass shard twisting in her rib-cage.
Pepper usually held reins in Marvel: the company, the marshaling of effort behind the scenes. But Selina had found the hope to begin with, and so long as hope was in the room, she didn't care who ran the show so long as the show ran.
A sound of agreement, and she looked back at the bed.] Everyone in this place will do exactly as they're told. Whatever is needed. We're all here for him.
