Re: [Facility: Tony Triage]
[Bruce was unaware of a plan. He'd barely been aware that Tony was alive, barely aware that there were cars being sent. His picked him up at an almost random location in the city, near to where the hotel placed him when he stepped through the door into Marvel. There was very little indication of where he'd been since seeing a younger version of Selina through the door into Gotham, his overall appearance maintaining that rumpled exterior that was nearly impossible for him to shake off.
He'd spent most of the ride with his eyes closed, focusing on the flow of his breath in and out of his body. And by the time they pulled up in front of the home-that-wasn't-a-home, he was as calm as he'd been since well before the incident under the water. He couldn't do much to assure that he'd keep his cool once inside, but that was (apparently) a risk everyone was taking.
Inside, he lingered in the doorway, aware that Selina was just to the side out in the hallway, and that Pepper was near the bed in the room, doctors and other staff moving back and forth around the space, but for the first few moments, he could only stare at Tony. None of the machines were showing any sorts of information that could be considered hopeful - none of them were showing signs of life at all. But like James had said, there was no sign of decay to the body laying there, Tony looking as if he was sleeping very soundly - sound enough to not need to move. Or even to breathe. It made the hair stand on the back of Bruce's neck, the sense of wrongness to it, and he shook his head.] What are we doing here? [The words slipped out in a murmur without forethought.]
