"Got Ham," she clarified, pronouncing it as if it was two different words instead of the soft slur between letters. "Are you sure?" Kitane asked, squinty eyed. Not that she thought Mingmei was lying, exactly, but sometimes people said things were okay when they weren't in the hopes that they would be. If things weren't okay here, she didn't want her friend to hold on when there was someplace better she could go.
"We could." Though the island didn't have Aubrey, it was much better than the dark misery of Gotham and not entirely unlike the worst places she'd ever stayed in. Aubrey had been there though, and she couldn't leave him behind for anything. "My friend Jules is going to come too. We'd have so much fun! Say you'll come, Mingmei!" It was safe, and fun, and there weren't any attacks there.
