Re: Conner/Donna
I'm not from Gotham. I'm not even from this universe, technically. [...] That sounds so much more impressive than it really is. I'll explain lower down.
Most Gothamites aren't exactly willing to accept anyone with open arms unless you're one of them. It's a matter of trust. They don't. And they doubt your intent or ability unless you've been personally trained and taken in by Batman. Which, given Gotham's general atmosphere, is completely understandable. But that doesn't mean you haven't been helpful. If you're willing to try and make things better, then you've done more to help than a lot of people. Don't sell yourself short.
Yeah, the hotel is full of different worlds. People from in those worlds come from different times or alternate universes. It's bound to be frustrating for most. [...] Well, there are also people that come from a place that's not a part of the hotel. A place that doesn't have a door. There most of these places, like Gotham or Metropolis, are fiction. They're comic books, or cartoons, or movies, or video games. Same with the people within those fictional worlds. That's where I'm from. Up until a few months ago, I would have called a psychiatrist if someone told me I'd be living within view of Stark Tower, or going to a party at Wayne Manor. Then I woke up one morning and everything I knew to be real and logical was thrown out the window. I was able to talk to all these people that I'd only ever read about. [...] That includes you.
I'm telling you this because I don't want you to think I'm hiding anything from you. And I don't want you to think it's weird that I have this ooky overseer knowledge about people here.
