[Hatter was smiling at her, and he couldn't wait to tell Alice. Unless he could convince Iris to come back now and then she'd be in Wonderland with them and everything would be brilliant. It was no secret that Hatter was attached to the girl he spoke with on the journals, it was public at first, and he didn't know enough to keep secrets like that. He rambled in general, at riddle man and his people. He didn't know anything about Iris outside of how much sense she made, and that was saying a lot, since no one made any sense.
She was nice though. Pretty. Blonde. Not like Alice, which was good, because Alice was Alice and Iris was Iris. His eyes widened when the hat almost dropped; it wouldn't be magic, he didn't chatter when it dropped. But he was glad all the same she caught it.] Hey, nice catch, that was close, yeah? [It was difficult to get his positive spirit down for long. Oh sometimes it happened, he had his moods, he took the wrong teas, he wallowed and lost himself in endless circles. But no one really saw that except for him.
His eyebrows went up when she shoved the hat back at him.] It's all right, the hat isn't ... it's not a part of me or anything. You can't stomp on it and it stomp on me. [It probably made no sense as an explanation, but that was Hatter's logic. He took the hat from her though it seemed really important. Dark eyes looked down at her, curious and warm.] Iris. [This was Iris. Yes. He would've known her anywhere.] I drew you more pictures. D'you want to see?
