Stephanie knew things were messed up. All these people who were supposed to be hella older than her all just winding up as freshmen? Yeah, wtf was that? But, she had an inkling that there was a reason for it; wasn't there always one? And, hell, whatever, she was going to enjoy her time whatever the sitch was. LIfe was too serious, and she felt like a hidden weight had been lifted off her shoulders. And while some gut feelings felt strange -- like talking to Ed and Emily, or the way that Tim interacted with her -- there were a couple of good feelings, too. Or at least, things that felt right. Destin, talking to him, that felt like something finally clicked into place. And, she couldn't quite place her finger on it, sure, but he made her smile, even if he had absolutely no real flirting skills. He wasn't hopeless, at least.
She'd seen him around campus, so she knew about the lack of sight, and so she didn't raise a brow when she opened the door to see him, sunglasses on even though it was night. No, she just smiled again, standing there in her skirt and top, bare toes painted purple (of course) curling underneath the balls of her feet. Blonde hair in a pile on the top of her head. She smiled brightly, a little too brightly, and then opened the door more.
"Hey," she said, bubble of joy in her voice, and there was none of that heaviness in her bright blue eyes that one might come to expect. Only that Pollyanna happiness that imbued almost every fiber of her being.
