Re: log: gatsby, bruce/selina
Teasing was easy with him; it always had been. It was a good balm for things not reciprocated, both in her Gotham and here, and she didn't think anything of it when his his return quip came with that Ms. Kyle attached. "Not tonight," she said of his suits. "Casual is a good look for you," she said honestly. She'd fallen for the Bat long before she'd known who the man behind the cowl was. And, honestly, she'd hated her own Bruce Wayne when she'd met him. He was pretentious, rich, all the things she hated about Gotham. But that had changed with time, and she had to admit that new grey at the temples was attractive.
She wasn't sure if he meant that the apartment wasn't very her, or that the yellow wasn't. But she supposed both were true, though she liked the fabric much more before she'd opened the door a few minutes earlier. "I think we can both agree that it's not my color."
There was the sound of her rummaging through a closet that was filled with things selected for her by a man who was dreadfully tired of his wife. None of it was particularly chaste, but she found a black dress that was simple, even if it bared part of her bandaged arm, and she slipped it on.
She listened to him talk about Eddie and Stephanie, and she tried to picture him having drinks and tacos. Her stomach churned with jealousy, and she really wanted to get over her Eddie and Stephanie problems. "Did you feel happier while you were with them? If so, I think that's a start, Bruce."
She was back in moments, bare feet and that tumbler back in her hand. "Do you want something? Gin?" She held up her glass to indicate that was what she was drinking.
