Re: "Mortal Danger" in Marvel
[Gwen thought maybe the ride down was good practice for Coney Island, if Coney Island ever happened, because stuff was kind of always getting in the way of stuff like Coney Island. It was maybe an illogical thought upon stumbling out of the pod, and she braced her hand on the side of the cooling metal and looked at the familiar space that had been her home for the last month. It was kind of weird, coming back, and it made her feel less than human in a kind of gross way. All those blinking lights and the submerged reality made the uncertainty about her own humanity come flooding back (Flooding! Hah! Good one, Stacy!), and she kind of hated it. It made her think of HYDRA, too, and whatever they were up too. Mr. Stark had sworn up and down that she wasn't Carnage, but she kind of thought he would lie through his teeth to protect someone, even if he'd never say he was doing it.
She stepped out just as JARVIS said someone should stay to work the walkway.] I'll do it. I'll stay. [She looked toward Mr. Rogers' pod, because Mr. Rogers was kind of always de facto in charge, but the pod hadn't opened yet.
She walked up to it, and it snikt open, but the inside was completely empty. No Mr. Rogers at all, and she just stared into the void.]
Great. Super. Awesome. [Muttered, and okay that was totally just moisture at the corners of her eyes - being below water could totally do that. She had the brief thought that Mr. Stark wouldn't have to deal with Mr. Rogers being gone, and that would be a good thing. Because that was what it meant, logically, right? The empty pod. She figured someone might ask JARVIS, but for once she didn't meddle or butt-in.]
