Re: Hotel: Selina & Robert
[Bruce noticed that held-breath moment, pausing his hand halfway down her back, resting right between her shoulder blades. His touch was surprisingly steady with how much his brain was tumbling around, but eased just a bit, going lighter.] This okay? [His voice was quiet, not quite as soft as a whisper, questioning but not coddling. It was fairly obvious that he was flying mostly-blind in trying to figure out where the line of 'okay' was with her. He was at least glad that she hadn't pulled away, that her fingers still smoothed over his shirt. He figured that would be the first thing to go if he misstepped.
When she stepped away, he figured that her quota of being able to stand there with him had been met, and let his arms quickly move away to not trap her in her escape. And so he was very surprised at the slip of her fingers into his, the way they curled around and held and then pulled. It would have taken a stronger man than him to not follow her, and he sat down beside her on the step. But her questions... he shook his head even as his expression went distant with thought.] I don't know... [The frown etched itself even deeper between his brows as he thought. With her release of his hand, it automatically drifted up to push back through his hair again. And then the words started, slowly, as he began to think out loud.]
I would see if there were already projects scheduled for work there, and then try to leverage that. If it was Tony, maybe... propose something energy related that SI could start, and just... make the start of the lab an add on to that so that the equipment is already down there. There would need to be an entrance on land that would be easy enough to access, but that wouldn't draw attention... [He paused.] Or if Tony was in the suit, just a way to elevator down from the middle of the bay. [The hand that had been through his hair rubbed at his forehead as he continued to think.] But if you think I was supposed to be able to get to it, then that wouldn't work... [He frowned, trying to follow what might have been the train of thought of a different him and a version of a friend that he didn't quite know.]
