Re: Hotel: Selina & Robert
[Bruce knew that sometimes Tony got wrapped up in things, numbers and schematics stealing all of his time, energy, and attention. He knew that sometimes Tony showed up in tabloids, crawling out of bed with people who looked good in photos wearing not much more than sheets. He knew that sometimes Tony was just Tony. But he'd been wrapped up in his own work for too long and then in the hotel, meeting with Matt and then just... being there. And he'd known that things weren't quite right with Tony, but he hadn't pushed to find out what.
So some of the worry, the pacing, the fingers back through wild hair... some of that was guilt, and some of it was visible in his eyes. He shouldn't have been making it about him, not at all, but both sides of him began to feel frantic when Tony was in too much danger. It had been that way since only a few days after meeting him, that connection forged from the first few words and first few experiments they'd shared. And it didn't make much of a difference in his own mind that this Tony apparently wasn't the same one he'd shared those times with.
Her hug... it was so unexpected, the contact that came with no hesitation from her. No, the hesitation was from him, and more surprise than anything else. It held his body tight for a moment until the feel of her, the sound of her voice, the smell of her hair, all finally made their way into his mind and drew his arms up to wrap around her waist. He was careful when he did, knowing how fine of a line he was walking and knowing how delicate she felt even with the wiry steel to her limbs.] More than once... [He didn't know if it was true for this Tony, but how could it not be? His voice was shredded with his worry, and he held her tighter while he curved down to her shorter height.]
