Re: in-person, silent hill: neil & mere.
[She didn't move for the longest while, the sound of footsteps pressing her further back into the wall until he spoke again, closer this time than he had been before. Only then did her hands come away from her face, bloodied skin ripped and torn by those needles from the creatures before. Things were swollen, and when she tried to open her eyes, tried to see him again, pain flared up until she gave up on the effort.
She gave a quick shake of her head, reaching out for him blindly until her fingers closed over his arm, fingers gripping tight enough to bruise.] I can try to walk. Eyes hurt. Can't open them. But I'll- [She broke off weakly and swallowed past a throat that had gone bone dry.] -try. I'll try. Just. Help me up?
[It took effort to get to her feet, knees shaking, but she managed to stay upright once there, though her hand didn't lose touch with Neil's arm, disoriented by the darkness that she couldn't break just yet.] Who else? Who else came? Do we have- have a way out? [Teeth chattered together as she spoke, the words fragmented but becoming whole with effort. And then, a beat, a pause, and she turned her face towards his, or where she believed his face to be.] I'm so glad you came. I didn't mean- you have to- I was coming to see you. Like I said.
[The apology tumbled out, words falling over one another, saline tears running down her cheeks, tracks made in the blood that was already drying there.] I'm so sorry this happened. [The words were thick with grief.]
