Re: in-person, silent hill: neil & mere.
[Time had lost most meaning after the monster had come. The door had all but been torn from its hinges, and the pieces of furniture she had pushed up against it in her panic had been thrown aside in its eagerness to get to her. But Meredith had fought, had clawed, skin beneath her nails to prove it. Fighting only got her so far, however, and he had been stronger, far stronger than she ever could have imagined. And eventually... it was easier not to fight.
He was long gone, but the horror had stayed behind, blood-soaked clothes, ripped and torn, and she had pressed herself into the corner of the room with her knees drawn up towards her chest, making herself the smallest target she possibly could. She had promised Neil she would stay put, that she wouldn't move, that she wouldn't go anywhere. So she hadn't.
But the open door and the smell of blood were beacons for the monsters in the hallway. The darkness gave them some bit of cover, only the creak of their feet in warning before they were upon her.
A scream, quickly cut off as she clawed at the figures that attacked. The pain was a constant by then, bright sparks of it erupting over her skin anew, fanned on by the needles the creatures had for fingers. Twenty between the two, they dug in and held tight and Mere, she fought. She fought against it, pushing and scrabbling against them, up onto her knees as she tried to push through, to find some gap between them. Promise to Neil or not, this was about survival and nothing else.
But they were stronger than her, invigorated by the smell of blood in the same way she was drained by its loss. And their needles, they were sharp. A choked breath as they pierced, and then something caught her attention.
A flash of light in the doorway. A familiar voice.
Meredith nearly sobbed in relief at the sound, and it was that moment of distract that gave the creatures the opening they needed. One hand and its five wicked tips found a new home embedded in the pale skin of the redheaded woman's face. There was a scream then, the world exploding into a fiery pain, vision flashing white as she clawed at her own face, at the needles stuck there.]
