Re: Quicklog, Silent Hill: Neil D, Lou D, Cris M
Louis hadn't brought a gun, so there was that potential difficulty swiftly resolved. There was a knife in his bag, but close quarters combat with the creatures in this place, which he had swiftly researched on his way to the door, did not seem a compelling prospect. The second he saw something longer and more blunt, he would replace it.
He listened to Cris's explanation of the door, fishing the knife from his bag and pocketing it, looking down at the map. Stay away from the church, find the keys. "I'll look for keys," he said, and then paused, looking to Neil, meeting his gaze. He worried for Neil, but they were all in this together, now. Even if they became separated, they wouldn't be all that far from each other. And if they spread out, they had all the better chance of finding both Meredith and Sam.
Reluctant as he was to part from Neil (Cris was not even a worry - he had utter faith the other man would be fine) he nodded. They'd all pass the school on their way into the town proper, based on the map. It would do, as a landmark. He took the jagged piece of guardrail from cris with a grateful nod. "Yes."
He couldn't be afraid, or think too far into the future. There was no time for that, no space, no room to breathe. He'd set his jaw so hard it was visible.
"Be safe," he said. He had been hunted by the dead and the half-living before. He did not relish throwing himself into such a conflict again, but here they were. "And Cris, copy that map to us if you can."
He gave them both a short brush on the shoulder, a half-hug for Neil and a firm grasp for Cris, as reassuring as was possible in this terrible situation. They couldn't forget that they had to rely on each other, now. Whatever happened with Sam, however she stood between them, if they didn't work as a team on this they would all be dead by the time the next nightmare ended.
