Re: Gotham: Selina and Dickie
[Oh, Selina had very strong opinions about what constituted strength, what constituted weakness. Love? Family? Those were the worse kinds of weakness. Oh, maybe she'd stopped feeling that way for a blink, a moment somewhere back when she belonged, when she loved someone, and when she thought they loved her more than they loved a city. But those days were long gone, and Selina was working very hard to stomp out any soft feelings that remained within her.
Which was why she shouldn't be in the car with this particular man, on this particular adventure. So, sitting there, she decided that once they located a kitten? This Cat? Was gone.
But for now? She nodded, Jay and Roy, and her world was very different. Not good, necessarily, but she'd grown her claws in a very different Gotham.
Dickie talked, and Selina listened. She considered asking about Babs, about whether Babs had been in the world where he'd gone and fallen in love with someone else. But, in the end, she managed to quiet her kitty curiosity. What did it matter? Things changed, and why shouldn't this. What little she knew about Kor'i made her seem a better match for fingerstripes anyway, and he'd clearly loved her.
The topic switched to Mar'i, and Selina had to smile. The little girl that had posted on the journals was sweet and saucy, and Selina had a very big soft spot for children, one that she tried to hide as very best she could.] I can see him appreciating a silent little assistant, tinkering away in the batcave. [But she shook her head a moment later.] I don't feel right talking about Bruce, Dickie. We haven't seen each other in over half a year, with the exception of a tiny battle in Marvel, and that was just on a battlefield. We aren't talking anymore. And I don't know what happened. I only know everything changed.
