I do hope you're right. I hope immortality is not dull and dreadful, assuming things happen as you say. I wish there to always be wonder in words upon pages, in dances not yet danced, in discoveries to be made. I long to leave behind the dreariness of stilted sitting room conversation, places where things must be polite or not said at all.
I do not mind tarnish, M. Frankenstein. Tarnish has beauty.
But, and this is merely supposition from an uneducated mind, I think certain aspects of our polite lives might be unpalatable should we live forever. I speak not of injury. Is morality not built entirely upon the fear of damnation and eternal flame?
