[It was hard not to take things personally when you were being avoided—even if it was you and everyone else, and truth be told, it'd started before Gwendy's death, hadn't it? It'd started after that weird sauna thing, and MJ was used to being able to reel people back in. Not, like, sexually, just—Pete had always been her friend and the distance was jarring. And it was personal, whether he knew it or not, but whatever, right? Because he was here now, and even if he was still being a total freak, at least he wasn't being a total freak like twelve feet away in a different house.
