Re: in-person: mina/dracula
Dracula's intention had always been to reveal himself to Mina, it was simply a matter of when. Recent events had, perhaps, brought his timeline forward, as he knew the dead woman in the courtyard was no ordinary victim. Nor was it an ordinary murder. None of his own had been responsible; had they been, he would know. Vanessa's presence there was mildly troublesome, as he had no fallen for her act as the others had, he knew why she was there and what she sought. He was making progress with her, to be true, and it would not do for her discover too much too soon. Webs were woven and entangled, and all would be revealed—at the right time. That was key, yes? All must fall into place as planned.
But this, this pleased him. Mina was alone, separate from her friends. Confused. She sought answers he possessed, and he had lured her under his spell once before; he could do so again. Once he showed her what she was, the potential she possessed, she would leave her mortal life behind.
The woman who opened the door to his polite knocking would not remember the man to whom she allowed entrance. No one would. He would be a blur, a vague memory and little else. Dracula ascended the stairs silently, dressed simply by his tastes, bypassing all other doors for the one at the end of the hall, ajar. Even if Mina had not told him where she was, he would have been able to find her; he could sense her, as he could sense all those descended from his immortality.
He heard her voice as he approached, and he paused just short of the threshold. Permission was not needed, no, but he knocked all the same, a light rap of knuckles against wood.
