Re: jurassic world: selina/steph -- escape
[Stephanie wasn't 100% sure about what was going on with Bruce these days. He reminded her a lot now of the Bat she grew up with in her Gotham. It concerned her, too, but she didn't know how to break through. Forcing people to talk only worked for so long. And, she knew that Bruce was hurting about Damian coming back, even if he wouldn't allow himself to do so. She knew, too, that Selina had to be hurting. Not just about Damian or about Bruce, but also her standing in Gotham in general. Stephanie didn't like it. There was a time when Selina was her closest friend, and even if the two women weren't on very good terms at the moment, she still cared for the kitty. She didn't want her to feel lost or displaced.]
I mean, in the grand scheme of things... [She trailed off with a grin and then her lips dipped down into a thoughtful little frown. She shook her head, looking down at the rain soaked ground below them as she tried to navigate around the bumps and such of the forest.] I wouldn't want to adopt a kid just to-- to fix my problems. Kids should never be just to fix problems. To make me hurt less. You know? [Stephanie had believed that since she was a teenager and had given up her own daughter for adoption. Children should never have been the answer to a problem, and a tiny part of her was glad that she hadn't gotten pregnant towards the end of her marriage with Eddie. A kid might have been a bandaid for a crumbling relationship; neither of them would have ever wanted that for a child. Sighing, she rubbed at her eyes.] It's still hard for me to be around kids. Which I know is selfish. [A shrug.] I'll suck it up.
[And then, she sighed again.] You. How are you doing with-- with him being back?
