Re: Quicklog: Marvel, Clem & Jake
[She smiled over at him easy, hands on the wheel and nothing like worrying in her eyes.] I'm on the mend real well. My brother, Delcan, he busted his knee terrible. Mikey didn't do so good neither. I'm just fine. [She meant it. She didn't walk away from that business at Stark Tower any worse for wear. Truth was, she was pretty damn pleased with herself. She'd gone from barely holding her own in zombies, to killing folks a foot away. Maybe most folks wouldn't think that was a thing to be proud of, but she reckoned she'd done a lot of good being fearless.] I always did love this job. Quitting, it wasn't real smart of me. But I figured it before it was too late.
[She turned onto the ramp leading toward the water and the food.] Working, honey, it ain't just a job. It can be something you love plenty. [Real casual.] You love drawing. Why not look for something 'round art? I reckon working with art would make you happier than working with food. [And she knew Lore and Graham, they hadn't been big on careers. Hadn't been big on anything but each other, really, come the end of the day.] My momma, your grandma, she loved acting. That was her career. Ain't the same as a job.
