Re: wayne manor: destiny/steph
[She rolls her eyes when he questions her heart attack joke and tries really hard not to pull a face. Yeah, of course he could know what actually would kill her in an instant (though the details of how he does so misses her completely), but Steph tried not to focus on that. She'd been getting better about the whole control thing talking to him; maybe it helped a little to have someone know so much about you without really asking. Or, maybe, he was just wearing her down a little. Either way, it had softened her walls a little lately. Talking to him turned easier, and she had opened up to Bruce and Selina (even just a little bit) about how much she had really been hurting about...well, everything.
In the end, she sort of does pull a face, but the way her nose scrunches and her mouth twists lets him know that it isn't really an upset expression after all.]
Bribing me with my own cookies? Low blow. [But, her smirk returns, and she reaches over to pluck a cookie off the plate. As if she hadn't already had a couple. As if she hadn't eaten the leftover batter with her fingers while these cookies were baking. Her smirk goes smug when he compliments them, but then she softens. Even at the bat moniker, she doesn't flinch (when, at any other point, she just might have -- connotations attached to the nickname and all).] Thanks. Y'know, just something to keep myself...busy. Distracted. [That isn't the only reason, but then again she knows he knows more. A shrug, and then she turns back to making herself some coffee. Light and sweet, of course.] Want a cup?
