[She took a breath and shook her head again, lost for what she was trying to say. So she didn't say anything for a long pause, looking down at her fingers as she twisted them around each other.]
Like firefighters. [She was softer when she looked back up again at him.] They go out and they do this dangerous thing every day. And some of them do it smart and wear all their equipment and follow their training. And some run in and try to be some hero and that makes it even more dangerous. And either way the people they have at home worry, but they know that it's part of the job. [She gave a loose shrug under the almost-too-big shoulders of her t-shirt.] I just want you wearing all your equipment and stuff...
