[Eddie knew that look and he never thought he'd see it again now that she was human. It made his antics slow to a simmer out of reflex. So many times she had used that look with a firm hand pressed against his chest to made him calm down and now after all that time it did the same damned thing to him.] I- I was sleep walking. [He squinted and leaned so close to the glass that his forehead lightly thunk against it. Muerte was acting weird, like she didn't recognize him and that was one-two blow right to his goddamned heart.]
I sleepwalked into another door. [He held up the sack of PJ's and supplies. Worry set in and he rolled his tongue between his lips in thought.] See, I have proof. I sort of have proof. I guess I should have gotten a written note from the other door. [And then Eddie stepped back from the window because if she didn't want him there, he'd leave. That had been his policy with her since day one.]
