Re: Log: Evelyn/Mina
[Mina looked into the open door, blue eyes alight and flitting along bright green and harmlessness. It was lovely, like the carriage ride to the seaside and nothing like the drab of her own London. No cobblestones, hills and sky, and what harm could come of such a place?
Relieved, she laughed a girlish and nervous laugh, fingers pressed to pink lips and an exhale that said she'd been rather silly, hadn't she?
She watched Evelyn's face carefully and, reassured, she followed.
One step, one booted foot into the interior of that bright green place with the open sky, and all color faded from the girl that was already pallid. The bright burned, and her skin - one hand, for that was all she'd moved beyond the threshold - blistered.
Mina screamed, piercing loudness, and yanked herself back into the quiet dark of the dusty hall. Breath coming in gasps now, she looked upon that blistering hand, raised it to her face and watched it smooth again. Breath held for too long, really, and fear brazen on her features as her gaze lifted to look at Evelyn.
It was instinct rather than thought, her hand darted out and she yanked the door closed, turned, and ran.]
